The main difference between events and tasks is that "completing" an event does not impose the interaction of the user. E.g.: a meeting or a tv-show (event) takes place at a given moment, regardless of the user’s presence. On the other hand, the payment of a bill (task) is directly linked to a user, and it remains unsolved until the user makes the payment (thus marking the task as completed).
To add a new event you can do one of the following:

Each task can be in one of the following modes:
In order to add a new task you have to give it a name (1) and to select the task list you want to add it (2) to or to enter the name of a new task list in order to create a new one. A new task will always have the "not completed" status.
If the task is recurrent, you have to select (3) the recurrence frequency:
Each list can contain many tasks (e.g. a project). Smart Reminder won't notify you when every task is not completed, but if you have an important task, and you want to know when that task is not completed, you can check (4) the alarm option.
